Geo-INQUIRE PTRA Workshop 2026: From Scenarios to Consequences

The Geo-INQUIRE workshop “From Scenarios to Consequences: Probabilistic Tsunami Risk Analysis (PTRA) with Geo-INQUIRE Services” was held from 1–4 June 2026 at the GFZ Helmholtz Centre for Geosciences in Potsdam, Germany.

The four-day workshop brought together students, early-career researchers, scientists, trainers, and organisers for an intensive programme combining lectures, practical demonstrations, and hands-on tsunami risk analysis.

The workshop covered key components of Probabilistic Tsunami Risk Analysis, including hazard scenarios, exposure modelling, fragility and vulnerability modelling, uncertainty propagation, and consequence assessment. Participants also gained practical experience with datasets, services, software, and Jupyter Notebook workflows developed within Geo-INQUIRE and EPOS TCS Tsunami.

The workshop concluded with collaborative group projects, giving participants the opportunity to apply the full workflow from tsunami hazard scenarios to risk and consequence assessment.

Workshop materials and resources are available through the ETRiS PTRA Workshop page.
