ETRiS participated in EPOS Days 2026, held from 16–20 March in Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy, bringing together the EPOS community for scientific exchange, collaboration, and discussion.
Fatemeh Jalayer, ETRiS Coordinator, attended the event representing the ETRiS team.
Saeed Soltani contributed to the Early Career Researchers programme. On the first day, he served as a rapporteur for the early-career report of the Thematic Core Services, helping summarize key insights and outcomes from the discussions.
He also presented the poster “From PTHA to Probability of Safe Evacuation: A Jupyter-based Agent-Based Modeling Framework for PTRA within EPOS ICS-D”. The work explores how probabilistic tsunami hazard analysis can be linked with agent-based evacuation modeling to estimate the probability of safe evacuation under uncertainty and how such workflows could evolve into an EPOS ICS-D service.
The wider EPOS Days programme also included contributions from TCS Tsunami, an integrated tsunami impact-assessment workflow for emergency management, and discussions on potential collaboration between EPOS, the Global Earthquake Model (GEM), and the Global Tsunami Model (GTM).
