The Global Tsunami Model Association was formally inaugurated on 26 September 2024 in Rome during its Foundational Assembly.

Eighteen participants took part in the meeting and signed the Articles of Association, marking the formal establishment of the organization.

Fatemeh Jalayer from ETRiS was selected as Deputy Chair of the Global Tsunami Model Association.

The new association provides a platform for collaboration and coordination across the international tsunami modeling community.
